A CNC machined aluminium adaptor plate for mounting a NetGain Hyper 9 motor to the original air cooled Volkswagen Beetle transaxle.
Keeping the original transaxle is the whole point of this approach. A Beetle's gearbox, driveshafts, mountings and rear suspension all work together, and replacing them means re engineering half the car. Bolt an electric motor to the gearbox that is already there and the conversion stays reversible, the car keeps its character, and the parts that were never the problem are left alone.
The plate is the one component that cannot be improvised. It has to hold the motor concentric with the gearbox input shaft to a tolerance the coupling will accept, carry full drive torque between two housings that were never designed to meet, and put the motor in a position where it clears the body. Get any of that wrong and you find out through vibration, coupling wear or a cracked casing.
CNC machined rather than fabricated is what delivers that concentricity repeatably. A plate cut and welded to a drawing is close; a machined one is right.

Compatibility
For a NetGain Hyper 9 motor onto an air cooled VW Beetle transaxle.
Air cooled specifically. Later water cooled VW transaxles are a different casing and this plate does not fit them.
You will also need a coupling between the motor shaft and the gearbox input, and a motor mount or cradle to carry the motor's weight. The plate locates and connects; it is not the whole mounting solution. Our Hyper 9 motor cradle is the matching mount.
