A right angle busbar with an M8 stud, in nickel plated copper, for joining lithium battery modules where a straight link will not fit. The stud gives you a bolted take off point as well as the link.
Module to module connections are where a pack's resistance quietly accumulates. Every joint adds a little, and at pack currents a little resistance is a lot of heat in a place that is hard to inspect. Copper keeps that low, and the nickel plating stops the surface oxidising into a resistance you cannot see.
The 90 degree form is for the tight corner, where modules sit at right angles to each other or where a straight bar would foul the enclosure. The M8 stud means the same part can also be the point where a cable joins the string.
Check your module carefully before ordering. This is the single most common mistake on busbars, because the module names are nearly identical and the spacings are not.
Key specifications
| Part | BB6LM8 |
|---|---|
| Type | Right angle module busbar with stud |
| Material | Nickel plated copper |
| Stud | M8 |
| Angle | 90 degrees |
| Weight | 0.03 kg |
Features
- Copper for low resistance, nickel plated so the surface stays that way
- Right angle form for corners where a straight busbar will not fit
- M8 stud, so the joint can also be a cable take off point
- Compact, for packs where the space between modules is the constraint
Compatibility
Fits:
- CALB 4S3P battery module, 2.2 kWh
- CALB 6S2P battery module, 2.2 kWh
- LG 4P3S battery module, 2.6 kWh
Does not fit:
- CALB 4S3P battery module, 2.55 kWh
- CALB 6S2P battery module, 2.35 kWh
Read those two lists carefully. A CALB 4S3P appears on both, and the only thing separating them is the energy figure, 2.2 kWh against 2.55 kWh. Check the rating on your own modules rather than the name.
Torque the joint properly and check it again after the first heat cycle. A loose busbar is the most common cause of a hot spot in a pack.
In the box
- 1 x right angle busbar with M8 stud
