A straight jumper busbar in nickel plated copper, for linking CALB battery modules.
Module to module connections are where a pack's resistance quietly accumulates. Every joint adds a little, and at pack currents a little resistance becomes a lot of heat in a place that is hard to inspect. Copper keeps that low, and the nickel plating stops the surface oxidising into a resistance you cannot see.
A solid busbar beats a cable jumper for the same reason: a cable adds two crimps and a length of conductor where a busbar is one piece of metal with two bolted joints.
Check your module carefully before ordering. Battery module busbars are specific to the module, and CALB modules with nearly identical names differ in terminal spacing.
Key specifications
| Part | BB6S33 |
|---|---|
| Type | Straight jumper busbar |
| Material | Nickel plated copper |
| Suits | CALB 4S3P battery module |
| Weight | 0.03 kg |
Features
- Copper for low resistance, nickel plated so the surface stays that way
- Solid busbar rather than a cable jumper, so there are no crimps to add resistance
- Straight form, for modules in line with each other
Compatibility
For the CALB 4S3P battery module.
Check the energy rating on your own modules. CALB list 4S3P modules at both 2.2 kWh and 2.55 kWh, and the two are not the same. If you are unsure which busbar your build needs, ask us before ordering.
Do not force a busbar that does not fit. If it needs bending or pulling to line up, it is the wrong one, and the bolts will loosen as the pack cycles.
Torque the joints properly and check again after the first heat cycle. A loose busbar is the most common cause of a hot spot in a pack.
In the box
- 1 x straight jumper busbar
