A busbar for joining LG battery modules mounted side by side on a coolant plate.

Module to module connections are where a pack's resistance quietly accumulates. Every joint adds a little, and at pack currents a little resistance becomes a lot of heat in a place that is hard to inspect. The right busbar for the position keeps that low, because the wrong one is either strained into place or bridged with cable.

Position is the specification on a module busbar. This one is for modules sitting side by side. Other positions on the same coolant plate build need different bars: one for the face away from the plate, and right angle bars where the plate itself is in the way.

TypeBattery module busbar
Mounting positionSide by side
SuitsLG battery modules on our battery module coolant plate
Weight0.2 kg

Features

  • Correct length and form for side by side modules
  • Solid busbar rather than a cable bridge, so there are no crimps to add resistance
  • Dimensioned drawing and 3D model published, so the fit can be checked before ordering

Compatibility

For LG battery modules mounted side by side on our battery module coolant plate.

Check the drawing against your build before ordering. Battery module busbars are specific to the module and to the position, and modules with nearly identical names differ in terminal spacing. If a busbar needs bending or pulling to line up, it is the wrong one.

Torque the joints properly and check again after the first heat cycle. A loose busbar is the most common cause of a hot spot in a pack.
