A drop in replacement for the small circuit board on top of a Tesla Model S or X battery module. It takes the module's cell and temperature connectors and brings every one of those signals out on a single 12 pin socket, so a standalone BMS can plug straight in.
Reusing Tesla modules means dealing with Tesla's own sense board, which is wired for Tesla's BMS and is no use to anything else. The usual answer is cutting into the module's sense connectors and building a harness by hand, which is slow, easy to get wrong, and unpleasant to repeat across a dozen modules.
This board removes that job. The original board comes off, this one goes on in its place, and the module's existing connectors plug into it unmodified. Everything then leaves through one keyed socket. Twelve modules becomes twelve identical plugs instead of twelve hand built looms.
Check which version your modules need before ordering. This is the V1 board, which has 3 connectors. Later modules use a 4 connector layout and need the V2 board instead. Count the connectors on your own module and match it, because the two are not interchangeable.
Key specifications

|---|---|
| Suits | Tesla Model S and Model X modules, 3 connector type |
| Version | V1 |
| Output | Single 12 pin socket, cell taps and temperature |
| Mating plug | TE 1-794954-2, one supplied |
| Pins | TE 1586317-1, twelve supplied |
| Weight | 0.01 kg |
Features
- Direct replacement for the Tesla original, no modification to the module
- All cell and temperature signals on one 12 pin socket
- Mating plug and all twelve pins supplied, so the board arrives ready to wire
- Makes a module repeatable: every module ends up with the same plug
- What we use ourselves to make Tesla modules plug and play with an Orion BMS
Compatibility
For Tesla Model S and Model X battery modules with 3 sense connectors.
If your modules have 4 connectors you need the V2 board instead. This is the single most common ordering mistake on these, so count the connectors first.
The 12 pin output suits any standalone BMS. We use it with the Orion BMS 2.
In the box
- 1 x replacement BMS board, V1
- 1 x TE 1-794954-2 plug
- 12 x TE 1586317-1 pins
