A CALB 8S2P lithium battery module, 6.67 kWh. Eight cell groups in series, two cells in parallel, supplied with its connectors and pins.
6.67 kWh in one module is a lot of energy per unit, which suits a pack built for range: fewer, larger modules means fewer interconnections, fewer joints to torque and inspect, and fewer cell taps to wire. A 50 kWh pack is eight of these rather than twenty of something smaller.
The low module voltage makes assembly safer. Eight cell groups in series is still well under the level that presents a shock hazard, so modules can be handled and wired individually and the high voltage system only exists once they are connected in series.
8S means your BMS needs eight cell taps per module, not sixteen. The two parallel cells in each group behave as one cell for monitoring.
Connectors and pins are included, which is worth noting because on most modules they are a separate order and a small part that stops a build.

Features
- 6.67 kWh per module, so a large pack needs fewer interconnections
- Connectors and pins included, unlike most modules
- Low module voltage, so assembly is done at low voltage
- Eight cell taps per module, so BMS wiring stays manageable
- Two specification sheets published
Compatibility
For EV conversions, renewable energy storage and stationary storage.
It needs a BMS. The module has no protection of its own. Every cell group needs monitoring and balancing.
Accessories are specific to the module. CALB list several modules with similar names and different energy ratings, and busbars and BMS connectors are not interchangeable between them. Check the energy figure on your own modules before ordering anything to go with them.
In the box
- 1 x CALB 8S2P battery module, 6.67 kWh
- Connectors and pins
