Straight silicone coolant hose, 13 mm bore. For the coolant runs in a conversion that carry real flow.
Silicone is the right material for a coolant hose that has to last. Rubber hose hardens, cracks and eventually splits after years of heat cycling. Silicone stays flexible across a much wider temperature range and does not perish in the same way, which matters on a vehicle where a burst coolant hose means a battery or a drive unit losing its cooling.
Straight rather than moulded means it can be cut to whatever length a run needs. A moulded hose fits one path exactly and nothing else; straight hose plus the right bends is how you plumb a system nobody made a hose kit for, which is every conversion.
13 mm bore is a real coolant line, not small bore push fit tube. This is the size for a battery or motor loop carrying pump flow.
Key specifications
| Part | CF13SSH |
|---|---|
| Type | Straight silicone coolant hose |
| Bore | 13 mm |
| Form | Straight, cut to length |
Features
- Silicone, which stays flexible and does not perish like rubber
- Straight, so it suits a run nobody made a moulded hose for
- 13 mm bore, sized for pump flow rather than small bore tube
- Wide temperature tolerance
Compatibility
For 13 mm coolant connections on battery loops, drive unit loops, heaters and radiators.
Silicone is not suitable for oil or fuel. It swells and softens in contact with mineral oil, so a drive unit's oil circuit needs oil rated hose instead.
Use proper hose clips and support long runs. Silicone is flexible, which is a virtue in routing and a liability if a long span is left to hang: it will chafe wherever it touches.
