A Type 2 charging inlet for the vehicle side, single phase and rated 16 A, supplied pre wired with three metres of 4 mm² cable. Each conductor is coloured and marked.
Type 2 is the current standard across the UK and Europe, so this inlet gives access to essentially all public and commercial AC charging, even at a modest current rating.
At 16 A single phase this delivers about 3.7 kW, which is overnight charging rather than a top up on the way somewhere. For a small pack or a vehicle that sits still most of the time, that is often exactly enough, and it costs far less to install than a higher rated system.
You can plug into a 22 kW charge point with it. The car and the inlet simply take what they are rated for. A modest inlet does not restrict where you can charge, only how fast.
The pre wired tail is what makes it worth buying assembled. Terminating an inlet means getting the conductors into a sealed body without compromising the seal, and the consequence of doing it badly is water in a connector on the outside of the car. It also takes a locking pin, so the cable can be held during a charge.

Compatibility

The 32 A three phase version is the higher rated option, delivering up to 22 kW where the car can take it.
The inlet does not charge anything on its own. The charger, the control pilot handling and the protection are separate, and the pilot signal has to be read by something that decides how much current to draw.
