A Type 2 charging inlet for the vehicle side of an AC charge, rated 32 A three phase, supplied pre wired with three metres of 6 mm² cable. Each phase is coloured and marked.
This is the socket that goes in the car, the one a public charger's cable plugs into. At 32 A on three phases it will take 22 kW of AC, and on a single phase supply it takes 7.4 kW, so the same inlet covers a home charger and a three phase commercial one.
The pre wired tail is what makes it worth buying assembled. Terminating a Type 2 inlet properly means getting seven conductors into a sealed body without compromising the seal, and the consequence of doing it badly is water in the connector that sits on the outside of the car. Here the hard part is already done and correctly sealed, and you join to a marked, colour coded tail in the dry.
It also takes a locking pin, so the cable can be held in place while charging rather than being unpluggable by anyone walking past.

Features
- Arrives pre wired and sealed, so the difficult termination is already done
- Three metres of tail, enough to reach from a wing to most charger locations
- Phases coloured and marked, so the join at your end is unambiguous
- Takes a locking pin to retain the cable during a charge
- Covers both single and three phase AC charging from one inlet
Compatibility
For any conversion using AC charging through a Type 2 inlet, which is the standard across the UK and Europe.
The inlet does not charge anything on its own. It is the connector and the tail. The charger, the control pilot handling and the protection are separate, and the control pilot signal in particular has to be read by something that decides how much current to draw.
