Adhesive lined heat shrink tubing, 9 mm shrinking to 3 mm, in 100 mm lengths. A 3 to 1 ratio dual wall tube that seals as well as insulates.
Adhesive lined is a different product from ordinary heat shrink. Plain tube shrinks down and grips, but it does not seal: water tracks along the conductor underneath it, and on a battery or high voltage joint that is exactly where corrosion starts. Dual wall tube carries an inner layer of adhesive that melts as the outer layer shrinks, flows into every gap, and sets. The result is a joint sealed against moisture rather than merely covered.
The 3 to 1 ratio is what lets it cover a termination. A joint is almost always fatter than the cable leading into it, and ordinary 2 to 1 tube that fits over the joint will not close down onto the cable behind it. Going from 9 mm to 3 mm covers both in one piece.
This is the smallest size. It suits small signal terminals, sensor joints and thin cable splices.
Key specifications

Features
- Adhesive inner wall that melts and flows, sealing rather than just covering
- 3 to 1 ratio, so one piece covers both a joint and the cable behind it
- Cut to 100 mm, the usual length for a termination
- Insulates and weatherproofs in a single operation
Compatibility
For terminations, splices and connector backshells where the finished diameter falls between 3 mm and 9 mm.
Other sizes in the same family: DWA-12/4 for mid sized joints and DWA-24/8 for cable lugs.
Use enough heat, and work from the middle out. The adhesive has to reach its melting point, not just the outer wall. Shrink from the centre towards each end so the adhesive is pushed out rather than trapping air, and stop when you see a small bead of adhesive appear at each end. That bead is how you know it has sealed.
It is a one way operation. Adhesive lined tube cannot be slid off and reused, so make sure the joint is right before you shrink it.
