The plug half of a Jonhon EVH2 two pin high voltage connector, A keyed, for 4 to 6 mm² single core shielded cable. It carries a built in interlock loop and terminals are included.
This is the cable side of the pair. It pushes into the matching receptacle, which is the part that mounts through a panel, and locks with a push pull action and a secondary catch so it cannot be shaken apart. Two things about it are worth understanding before you order, because both cause returns.
It has a high voltage interlock, and that is the point of it. Alongside the two power contacts the connector carries a small signal loop. This plug contains a shorting link across that loop, so the circuit is complete only while the plug is home. Wire the loop back to your BMS or contactor control and the pack knows the moment someone starts to pull the connector. The interlock contacts are made shorter than the power contacts on purpose: they break first, so the contactors have already opened before the high voltage pins separate. That is the difference between unplugging a connector and breaking a live circuit under load.
A keyed parts only mate with A keyed parts. The housing is moulded with a keyway that physically blocks a B keyed half. This is not a nuisance, it is the feature. Where two similar high voltage circuits run side by side, opposite keys make it impossible to cross connect them during a rebuild. That is why a fifth of the orders for this plug also contain the B keyed one: one key per circuit.

Features

Compatibility
Mates with the A keyed female receptacle, which is the panel mounting half. It will not mate with a B keyed part, by design. If you need a second circuit that cannot be confused with this one, use the B keyed plug and its matching receptacle.
Built for 6 mm² shielded high voltage cable. The housing accepts 4 to 6 mm², and our 6 mm² shielded orange cable is the size this variant is coded for.
Used for the high voltage links between a battery pack, on board charger, power distribution unit, motor controller, air conditioning compressor and PTC heater. If your build needs more than 40 A through the joint, talk to us before specifying it, as the current rating depends on the contact fitted.
