An M6 by 10 mm pan head bolt with a Torx drive, in A2 stainless steel.
Fasteners in a high voltage build are not generic hardware. A bolt through a busbar carries current. A bolt into an enclosure holds a seal. A bolt into a mount takes drive torque. In each case the wrong material, the wrong head or the wrong length is a fault that only shows up later, and usually somewhere awkward to reach.
A pan head spreads its load over a wider area than a socket cap, which is what you want on thin panel, on a bracket, or anywhere the fastener bears directly on a soft or thin material rather than into a counterbore.
Torque matters more than tightness. A2 stainless is strong enough for general fixing but not a structural grade. Do not substitute it where a high tensile bolt is specified, particularly on anything carrying drive torque or suspension load.
Key specifications
| Part | FXM6TPHM10SS |
|---|---|
| Type | Pan head machine screw |
| Thread | M6 |
| Length | 10 mm |
| Drive | Torx |
| Material | A2 stainless steel |
| Sold as | Individually |
Features
- Pan head, spreading load over a wider bearing area than a socket cap
- Torx drive, far less prone to camming out than a cross head
- A2 stainless, for corrosion resistance in exposed positions
- Short at 10 mm, for thin panel and bracket work
Compatibility
For general fixing into M6 threads and clearance holes in panel and bracket work. Not a structural fastener.
Check the length against your stack before ordering. A bolt that bottoms out in a blind hole feels tight while clamping nothing, and one that is too short engages too few threads to hold. Count the thickness of everything the bolt passes through, plus the depth it needs in the thread.
In the box
- 1 x M6 x 10 mm pan head bolt
