A DEUTSCH HDP26 series plug assembly, 24 shell size, 18 way. A heavy duty sealed circular connector for harsh environment wiring.

DEUTSCH HDP is what you use when a connector has to survive. It is the standard in off highway, agricultural and heavy vehicle work, and it appears wherever a loom has to cope with vibration, water, mud and temperature cycling for a service life measured in decades. Where an ordinary automotive connector would be the weak point, this is not.

Contacts are separate. That is normal for DEUTSCH and it is deliberate: you choose the contact to suit the conductor and the current, crimp them individually and insert them into the housing. It also means a damaged circuit can be extracted and remade without replacing the connector.

Eighteen ways through one sealed crossing suits a controller, a sensor cluster or a drive unit interface that would otherwise need several separate penetrations and several seals.

Compatibility

Mates with the corresponding HDP26 shell size 24, 18 way receptacle in the same keying. Match the shell size, the way count and the keying together.

Contacts are ordered separately and chosen to suit your conductor size. You also need the correct DEUTSCH crimp tool and an insertion and extraction tool.

Plug unused cavities. An unfilled cavity loses the connector's sealing, which is the entire reason for choosing it.
