A 6.6 kW onboard charger for a 312 V lithium pack, sealed to IP67 and talking to your BMS over CAN. It is the size of charger most conversions want: enough to fill a pack overnight from a domestic supply, rugged enough to live under a vehicle rather than in a workshop.
An onboard charger is the part that decides how a vehicle lives with its owner. Too small and the pack never recovers between uses. Not sealed, and it cannot be mounted where there is space. This one puts out up to 20 A across a 200 to 450 V window, so it suits the high voltage packs most modern conversions run, where the cells want volts rather than amps, and it reports to the BMS over CAN rather than charging blind on a fixed profile. It is fan cooled and rated from minus 40 to plus 65 degrees, which covers marine, industrial and off grid installations as well as road vehicles.

Features
- 6.6 kW fills a typical conversion pack overnight from an ordinary supply, without needing three phase
- 60 A across a wide 65 to 140 V window, so it suits a 312 V pack through its whole state of charge rather than tapering early
- Talks to the BMS over CAN, so the pack governs the charge rather than the charger following a fixed curve
- IP67 sealed and vibration resistant, so it can be mounted outside a dry enclosure
- Rated from minus 40 to plus 65 degrees, which covers marine and off grid use as well as vehicles
- A STEP model is published, so it can be packaged into a build before anything is ordered
Compatibility
This is the 312 V unit. The same charger is made in four pack voltages, all in the same case and at the same weight, so a design can be laid out once and the voltage chosen later:
| HK-LF-108-60 | 108 V nominal, 65 to 140 V, 60 A |
|---|---|
| HK-LF-144-46 | 144 V nominal, 90 to 195 V, 46 A |
| HK-LF-312-20 | 312 V nominal, 200 to 450 V, 20 A, this one |
| HK-LF-540-14 | 540 V nominal, 400 to 680 V, 14 A |
Tell us 250 kbps or 500 kbps when you order, because the CAN baud rate is set at the factory. The signal interface definition in the Documents tab shows every pin on the control connector.
In the box
- 1 x HK-LF-312-20 charger
Mating connectors, cable and mounting hardware are not included.
