Shielded high voltage cable, 16 mm², in the orange that marks a high voltage run. Rated 450/700 V, with a stranded copper conductor and a tinned copper braid. Sold by the metre and supplied as one continuous length.
The shield is not decoration. A traction inverter switches hundreds of amps thousands of times a second, and every one of those edges radiates. Unshielded, the cable between inverter and motor becomes an antenna driving interference into everything nearby, which in a car means the radio, the BMS, the sensors and the CAN bus. The braid gives that energy a path back to where it came from instead.
The orange is a legal and practical convention, not a style choice. Orange means high voltage to anyone who opens the car, including the people who will cut it out at the end of its life. Use it for every high voltage run.
Terminate the screen at both ends unless you have a reason not to. A shield connected at one end only still does something, but far less than one that is properly bonded at both.
Key specifications

Features
- Tinned copper braid screen, for inverter and motor runs that would otherwise radiate
- Flexible stranded conductor, so it can be routed in a car rather than a cabinet
- Orange sheath, the standard high voltage marking
- Cut to your length and supplied unbroken, not joined from offcuts
Compatibility
For high voltage runs in EV conversions, industrial drives and energy storage, where 16 mm² suits the current.
Size the conductor for your current, not for the connector. 16 mm² is right for auxiliary high voltage runs and smaller traction circuits. Main pack and inverter runs usually want 35, 50 or 70 mm².
Order the length you need in one piece. Because it ships as a continuous length, ordering 10 metres gets you 10 metres, not two fives.
In the box
- Shielded HV cable, 16 mm², cut to the length ordered
