Shielded high voltage cable, 6 mm², in safety orange. Rated 450 V AC and 700 V DC, double insulated, with a tinned copper braid. Sold by the metre and supplied as one continuous length.
This is the size for the high voltage circuits that are not the traction run: heaters, compressors, DC to DC feeds, charger runs and pack auxiliaries. They sit at full pack voltage and need the same treatment as the main cables, at a fraction of the section.
The shield is not decoration. Anything switching at pack voltage radiates, and unshielded cable carries that interference into the radio, the BMS, the sensors and the CAN bus. The braid gives it a path home instead. Coverage here is at least 85 percent optical, which is what makes a screen effective rather than nominal.
The orange is a safety convention. It tells anyone who opens the car that the cable is at pack potential, including the people who will take it apart at the end of its life.
Mind the bend radius. Minimum is six times the cable diameter, so about 45 mm for this one. Tighter than that and the screen distorts and the insulation thins on the outside of the bend.

Features
- Tinned copper braid with at least 85 percent coverage, so the screen actually works
- Double insulated, for a cable that may be handled during service
- Orange sheath, the standard high voltage marking
- Flexible stranded conductor, routable in a car rather than a cabinet
- Printed markings every 200 mm, so an offcut can still be identified
- Cut to your length and supplied unbroken
Compatibility
For high voltage auxiliary runs in EV conversions: cabin and coolant heaters, air conditioning compressors, DC to DC converter feeds and charger circuits.
Size the conductor for the current. 6 mm² suits auxiliaries. Main pack and inverter runs want 35, 50 or 70 mm².
Check the 700 V DC rating against your pack. A 400 V class pack is comfortably inside it. An 800 V system is not.
In the box
- Shielded HV cable, 6 mm², cut to the length ordered
