A 10 tonne hydraulic crimping tool for copper and aluminium cable lugs from 4 mm² to 70 mm², supplied with eight interchangeable dies and spare seals.
A crimp on a battery cable is a gas tight cold weld, or it is a future fault. Done with the right hex die at the right pressure, the lug barrel and the conductor deform into one piece of metal with no air between them, and the joint outlives the cable. Done with a hammer, a vice or a bolt cutter, it is a mechanical grip that looks convincing, passes a tug test, and then heats under load, oxidises from the inside, adds resistance, and makes more heat.
That failure mode is why this is not a tool to skip. Pack and inverter joints carry hundreds of amps, and a bad crimp inside a heatshrunk lug is invisible until it is a hot spot. Ten tonnes through a matched hex die is what produces a joint you do not have to think about again.
The eight dies cover the whole 4 to 70 mm² range, so one tool does a complete pack build.

- Eight dies covering the full 4 to 70 mm² range, so one tool does a whole build
- Hex dies, which produce the gas tight joint a flat crush cannot
- Spare seals included, since a hydraulic head is a serviceable item
- Works on copper and aluminium lugs
Compatibility
For copper and aluminium cable lugs from 4 mm² to 70 mm², which covers the full range of our copper lugs.
Use the die that matches the barrel, not the one that fits. A die one size up gives an under compressed joint that looks finished. If you are unsure, crimp a test piece, cut through it, and look: a correct crimp shows solid metal with no visible voids.
For small signal terminals this is the wrong tool. Anything below 4 mm² wants a ratcheting hand crimper with the correct profile.
In the box
- 1 x 10 tonne hydraulic crimping tool
- 8 x interchangeable crimping dies
