Hire of the Orion cell tap validation tool. It checks a cell tap harness for correctness before you plug it into the BMS, which is the only point at which a wiring mistake is still cheap.
A cell tap harness carries a wire from every cell group in the pack. Get two crossed, or one in the wrong position, and the BMS sees voltages that make no sense, and in the worst case sees the full pack voltage across an input designed for one cell. The harness is also the last thing built and the first thing plugged in, usually at the end of a long day.
This tool tests the harness on its own. It is handheld, runs from an internal 9 V battery, and is designed to be used in the workshop next to the pack. You confirm the harness is right, then you connect it.
It is a tool you need once per build, which is why we hire it. Buying one to validate a single pack is poor value, and it spends the rest of its life in a drawer.

This is a hire, not a sale. The listed price does not carry the hire cost: the 7 or 14 day fee and the £200 refundable deposit are arranged when you book. Contact us to check availability and dates before you plan around it.
The deposit comes back in full when the tool returns within the hire period. Time beyond it is charged at £10 per day and taken from the deposit.
