A nickel plated copper bracket that bolts to a Tesla module terminal and turns the connection through ninety degrees, presenting an M8 stud on a flat upright face. It is what you use where a cable has to leave the module stack rather than carry on to the next module.

The flat busbars link one module to the next. This one solves the two places they cannot: the first and last terminal in the pack, where the run has to turn and become a cable. Bolting a lug straight onto a module terminal means fighting for spanner room between stacked modules and loading the terminal sideways. The right angle busbar takes that load on its own foot and moves the stud out to where a lug, a torque wrench and your hands can all reach it.

It is also how modules get linked in parallel, and it lifts the connection clear of the module face, which is the reason most builds order a handful at a time. A typical order here is eight.

TypeRight angle terminal busbar, for the ends of a module stack
MaterialCopper, nickel plated
StudM8
FormL shape, with a clearance hole in the foot and the stud on the upright
Weight0.06 kg
SuppliedIndividually

Features

  • Turns the connection ninety degrees, so a cable can leave the pack without bending a lug onto a module terminal
  • M8 stud on an upright face, which gives a spanner somewhere to go when modules are stacked tight
  • Solid copper with nickel plating, so the bolted joint stays clean rather than oxidising under the nut
  • Takes the cable load on its own foot instead of putting it sideways into the module terminal
  • Also used to link modules in parallel, not only at the ends of a series string

Compatibility

For Tesla modules, at the start and finish of a custom battery box, and in solar and static storage builds using the same modules.

Between modules, use the flat busbars instead. Because the terminals alternate as a stack builds up, those come as a mirrored pair: negative to positive and positive to negative. Most packs need both, plus a right angle busbar at each end of the run.

Packs using these usually also want a coolant manifold to feed the module stack.

In the box

  • 1 x right angle busbar

Nuts, washers and cable lugs are not included. Order one per pack termination, and count the parallel links as well as the two ends.
