A diagnostic harness that gives access to the CAN data on a Tesla Model 3 built after January 2019, bringing it out to a standard OBD-II socket.
A Model 3 has no OBD-II port. Tesla did not fit one, because the car has no obligation to provide one and everything Tesla needs it does over the internet. That leaves owners and independent workshops with no way to see what the car knows about itself. This harness restores that.
What it gives you access to: battery capacity and voltage, drivetrain output, HVAC data and a good deal more besides. Several phone and laptop applications read that traffic and display it, which is where the harness becomes genuinely useful rather than merely a connector.
Finding the connector. It sits at the rear of the centre console. Remove the rear panel from the rear passenger footwell, below the vents and USB port area, and the OEM connector is behind it.
Work on your own vehicle is at your own risk. Connecting diagnostic equipment to a car, particularly a high voltage one, is something you take responsibility for. If you are not confident removing interior trim and handling a vehicle's data bus, have it done by someone who is.

Compatibility
For the Tesla Model 3 built after January 2019. Earlier cars use a different connector, so check your build date before ordering.

The harness is a connection, not an app. You still need a CAN interface or an OBD dongle and software to read and display the data.
