A 3 mm silicone thermal pad, cut to 318 by 99 mm to suit a CALB battery module, that goes between the module and its coolant plate. One per module.
Two surfaces that look flat are not, and the air trapped between them is a better insulator than almost anything else in the pack. The pad fills that gap: it deforms under clamping load into every hollow in both faces and gives the heat a continuous path out of the cells and into the coolant.
It does a second job that matters more. A module face sits at pack potential and a coolant plate is usually bonded to the vehicle. The pad is what keeps them apart electrically while still conducting heat, with a breakdown strength above 5 kV per millimetre, so 3 mm of it stands off well over ten kilovolts. That is why the pad is not optional and why nothing improvised belongs in its place.
Match the thickness to the module. This 3 mm pad is for CALB modules. LG modules sit closer to the plate and take the 1.5 mm pad instead. Fitting the wrong one either leaves a gap the pad cannot bridge, or over compresses it and bows the plate.

Features
- Conducts at 4 W per metre kelvin, which is high for a compressible pad and is what moves cell heat into the coolant
- Isolates to over 5 kV per millimetre, keeping a module at pack potential clear of a grounded coolant plate
- Soft enough to fill the hollows in both faces under clamping load, so there is no trapped air between them
- V-0 flame rated and stable to 240 °C, well beyond anything the pack should ever see
- Cut to size, so there is no trimming and no offcuts to dispose of
Compatibility
For CALB modules against a coolant plate. Order one per module, and remember both faces of a plate sandwiched between two modules need their own pad.
For LG modules use the 1.5 mm pad, which is the same material in the same footprint at half the thickness.
Fit it dry and clean. The pad relies on contact area, so anything left on the faces, swarf, grease or the film from a new plate, costs thermal performance exactly where it is hardest to recover.
