A circular DIN cable connector, female, 17 way. A screw coupled connector for signal and low power runs.
Circular DIN connectors seat by rotation and lock with a threaded coupling ring, which is why they are used where a connection has to stay made under vibration. A push fit connector relies on a detent; a threaded one is positively clamped and does not work loose.
Seventeen ways through one connector suits a controller or instrumentation harness that would otherwise need several separate connectors, each with its own strain relief and its own opportunity to be plugged into the wrong thing.
This is a cable connector, meaning it terminates onto a cable rather than mounting through a panel. The panel mounting half is a separate part.
Key specifications
| Manufacturer part | C016-10D017-002-1 |
|---|---|
| Type | Circular DIN cable connector, female |
| Ways | 17 |
| Coupling | Threaded |
| Mounting | Cable, not panel |
| Weight | 0.3 kg |
Features
- Threaded coupling, so the connection cannot vibrate apart
- Seventeen ways in one connector rather than several separate ones
- Circular body, which tolerates vibration better than a rectangular multi way
- Cable mounting, for the moving half of a harness
Compatibility
Mates with the corresponding 17 way panel mounting half in the same series and keying.
This is a signal and low power connector, not a high voltage one. Traction circuits need the high voltage connectors, which carry interlocks and touch proof contacts that this does not.
Ask us about contacts and the current rating before specifying it. No datasheet is published here, and whether contacts are included is not stated.
