An Amphenol Industrial HVSL1200 RADSOK high voltage plug. A single pole connector built around Amphenol's RADSOK contact system.
RADSOK is the reason to choose this connector. A conventional contact grips a pin at a few points, so the current crowds through those points and everything else about the joint follows from that: resistance, heat, and how much the contact degrades every time it is mated. A RADSOK contact is a stamped lattice that wraps the pin with hundreds of contact points distributed around its whole circumference.
What that buys you is low resistance at high current, and it keeps buying it. Less contact resistance means less heat at the joint, which is usually what limits a high voltage connector's continuous rating. It also means insertion force stays low while contact quality stays high, so the connector survives being mated and unmated far more often than a conventional one.
HVSL1200 is the larger end of the range, which is why it carries a price to match. This is a connector for a main power path rather than an auxiliary.
