A liquid cooled plate that sits under a pair of battery modules and carries their heat away. It is CNC machined from 6061 aluminium with a stir welded capping plate, and it ships with the two push fittings already in it, so it plumbs straight into a coolant loop.
A battery pack that cannot shed heat is a pack that derates. Cells that run hot lose capacity permanently, and a pack with no thermal path has to be nursed instead of used. This plate gives the modules somewhere to put their heat: the machined face sits flat against the module base with a thermal pad between, and coolant runs through the plate to a radiator or chiller. The flat face is the part that matters, which is why the capping plate is friction stir welded and then finished flat rather than simply bolted on. The double plate covers two module positions on one coolant run, so a four module pack needs two plates and two joints rather than four of each.

Features
- Covers two module positions on a single coolant run, which halves the number of joints in the pack compared with single plates
- Machined flat where it matters, because a thermal path is only as good as the contact between plate and module
- Friction stir welded capping plate rather than a bolted or bonded lid, so the coolant gallery stays sealed under pressure and heat
- Push fittings are supplied already installed, so there is nothing to source or seal before plumbing
- 6061 aluminium, light enough at 3.5 kg to handle and mount without extra structure
- Drawing, flow diagram and a STEP model are published, so it can be designed into a pack before anything is ordered
Compatibility
Sized for LG 4P3S and CALB 3P4S modules. A thermal pad goes between the module and the plate and is not optional: without it the contact is metal to metal across an imperfect surface and most of the cooling is lost. Use the 1.5 mm pad for LG modules and the 3 mm pad for CALB.
The plate needs somewhere to send the heat. A radiator and a pump complete the loop, and the module fixing kit holds the stack together. For a single module position, order the single plate instead.
In the box
- 1 x double coolant plate
- 2 x 8 mm push fittings, fitted
Thermal pads, fixings, coolant hose and the rest of the loop are ordered separately, because they depend on your pack layout.
