The cable side half of a two pole 70 mm² high voltage connector, B keyed, with the cable leaving at 90 degrees. Terminals are supplied. This is the plug: it pushes into the matching B keyed receptacle and locks there.

The right angle body is the reason to choose it. Where a straight connector needs a long, gentle bend behind it before the cable can turn, this one turns at the connector, so it fits against a pack wall or in a wheel arch where a straight body plus its bend radius simply will not go. On 70 mm² cable that bend radius is substantial, and it is usually what decides the layout.

It carries a high voltage interlock. Alongside the two power contacts is a small signal loop that is only complete while the connector is fully home. Wire it into your BMS or contactor control and the pack knows the moment someone starts to separate the joint. The interlock contacts are shorter than the power contacts by design, so they break first and the contactors have already opened before the high voltage pins part.

B keyed parts mate only with B keyed parts. The moulded keyway physically blocks an A keyed half. Where two similar high voltage runs sit close together, using A for one and B for the other makes crossing them impossible. Check the letter on both halves before ordering. It is the single most common reason one of these comes back.

Features

  • 90 degree cable exit, for pack walls and tight runs where a straight body will not fit
  • Rated 300 A continuous on 70 mm² conductors
  • Integrated high voltage interlock that breaks before the power contacts
  • Takes shielded cable, so the screen can be terminated at the connector
  • B keying physically prevents mating with an A keyed half
  • IP67 sealed once mated
  • Terminals included, so there is nothing else to order to make it off

Compatibility

Mates only with the B keyed female, EVH1A-H2ZJ-WB. Buy the pair unless you already have the other half.

For EV battery packs, DC fast charging, energy storage and industrial high voltage distribution on 70 mm² cable.

One point to confirm before you specify it. Our supplier data gives the insulation rating as 1000 V AC. On a connector used almost entirely on DC traction systems that is the figure worth checking against your own pack voltage, so ask us and we will confirm the DC rating from the manufacturer rather than have you design to an AC number.

In the box

  • 1 x 90 degree cable plug, B keyed
  • Power terminals to suit 70 mm²
