The Quaife ATB helical limited slip differential for the Tesla Model 3 rear drive unit. The QDH7T was commissioned by Fellten and is supplied exclusively through us. It drops straight into the standard housing in place of the factory open differential, and is the traction upgrade we fit as standard to our own drive units.
An open differential sends torque to whichever wheel has least grip, so on a powerful rear-drive conversion one wheel spins while the other does nothing. The Quaife ATB reverses that: its helical gear set continuously biases torque towards the wheel that still has grip, without ever locking. Because it works on gears rather than clutch plates, there is no pre-load to set, nothing to wear out and no service interval. It runs on the drive unit's normal oil and is designed to work with the vehicle's traction and stability control rather than against it.

Features

Compatibility
Fits the Tesla Model 3 rear drive unit. It is most often fitted at the same time as the 3.54:1 reduction gearset, while the drive unit is already apart. Doing both in one strip saves a second teardown. Customers converting to a conventional driveline usually take the Defender prop shaft stumps and a pair of output shaft seals at the same time.
For other Tesla drive units we stock the Quaife QDH2T for the large drive unit and the QDH3T for the small drive unit.
