A 1 kW DC to DC converter that takes high voltage from the traction pack and produces a regulated 14 V for the vehicle's ordinary electrics. This is the 74 to 162 V unit, sized for a nominal 108 V pack, and it comes with the connectors and pins already in the box.
A conversion still needs a 12 V system. Lights, wipers, the BMS, contactor coils, the instrument cluster and the vehicle controller all run from it, and once the alternator has gone with the engine, something has to keep the auxiliary battery charged. That is this converter's job: it sits across the high voltage bus and holds the 12 V side at 14.0 V, which is the voltage a lead acid or lithium auxiliary battery actually wants to see. At 72 A continuous it will run a full vehicle load and charge the auxiliary battery at the same time, and it holds that voltage to within 1 percent rather than drifting with pack state of charge.

Features
- 72 A continuous is enough to run a whole vehicle's 12 V load and charge the auxiliary battery at the same time
- Holds 14.0 V to within 1 percent regardless of where the traction pack is in its charge, so the auxiliary battery sees a proper charging voltage
- Connectors and pins are supplied, so it can be wired without chasing a separate connector kit
- Choose 12 V enable if you want it switched by a simple signal, or CAN if the vehicle controller should manage it
- Wide 74 to 162 V input, which covers a nominal 108 V pack from fully discharged to fully charged
- A STEP model is published, so it can be packaged into a build before anything is ordered
Compatibility
This is the 108 V unit. The same converter is made for four other pack voltages at the same price, so pick by where your pack actually sits:
| 44 to 97 V | For a nominal 72 V pack |
|---|---|
| 74 to 162 V | For a nominal 108 V pack, this converter |
| 103 to 227 V | For a nominal 144 V pack |
| 206 to 454 V | For a nominal 320 V pack |
Say 12 V enable or CAN when you order this one, because the control type is set at the factory. If you are using CAN, the protocol document in the Documents tab gives the message format.
In the box
- 1 x DC to DC converter
- Connectors and pins
High voltage cable, fusing and the 12 V side wiring are not included.

No datasheet is published for this variant yet. The CAN protocol document and the STEP model published on the 320 V version cover the same converter body and control interface, and we can send the pin assignments for this input range on request.
