Tesla Model 3 OEM Open Diff (Used)

The original open differential from a Tesla Model 3 rear drive unit, removed from a working unit.

There are two reasons people want one. The first is repair: a drive unit with a damaged differential can be put back into service for a fraction of the cost of a replacement unit. The second is that an open differential is sometimes simply the right choice, on a build where the extra traction of a limited slip differential is not worth the noise, the cost or the extra driveline shock.

These are genuine Tesla parts, not pattern copies. They fit exactly as they left the factory, because that is where they came from. They are removed from fully operational drive units when we upgrade those units for the conversion market, so they are used parts in serviceable condition rather than failed ones.

Compatibility

For the Tesla Model 3 rear drive unit. It is not for the large or small drive units from the Model S and X, which are different assemblies.

This is a used part. It has done mileage in a car. We take these out of drive units that were working when they came apart, but they are sold as used components for professional fitting, and fitting one means opening a drive unit. If you have not done that before, it is not the job to learn on.

While you are in there, the bearings and seals are worth replacing rather than reusing. A drive unit is not something you want to open twice.
