Cell Guard – Advanced Battery Protection Sensor
The Cell Guard is a compact, CAN-based environmental sensor designed to enhance the safety and longevity of lithium-ion battery systems in electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage applications. By monitoring critical environmental parameters, it provides early detection of potential battery issues, such as cell venting and moisture ingress.
Key Features:
- Environmental Monitoring: Measures absolute pressure, air temperature, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), absolute air water content, relative humidity, and dew point temperature.
- Optional Accelerometer: Detects shock loads and durations up to ±24G, aiding in impact assessment and battery health diagnostics.
- Configurable CAN Interface: Adjustable CAN bus speed and address, with a supplied DBC file for seamless integration into various battery management systems.
- Low Power Mode: Monitors the environment silently, activating CAN transmission only when predefined thresholds are exceeded.
- Programmable Output: Features a low-side drive function pin (up to 500mA) that can be triggered upon reaching specified environmental thresholds.
- Compact Design: Equipped with a 5-pin automotive Molex Nano-Fit Power connector, its small size and mass facilitate easy installation in diverse vehicle and energy systems.
